The Discussion:
RJ talked about SEMCO and gave us the topics for their next meeting on Nov. 9.
The discussion then took a philosophical turn about truth, objectively and personally. For example is 2 + 2 always 4? What happens if a person believes 2 + 2 is equal to 5? Carl’s take on this is that two plus two equals four, even for very large values of two.
We talked a little about passkeys, the hot new method to authenticate without use of passwords. Gib asked Grok about them, and it replied: A passkey is a modern, passwordless authentication method based on the FIDO2 and WebAuthn standards. It replaces traditional passwords with cryptographic key pairs for secure, phishing-resistant login. Pat offered to use this as a topic for next time.

Pat updated his previous presentation about file sharing options. The slide show is available here.
He evaluated several well-known services and some that are lesser-known. He considered privacy, price, and accessibility options. Clearly there was no one service that stood out for every use case. The bottom line, investigate and find what works best for your situation.
