[mdlug] Tech Request: HP Pavilion suspend and resume

Thank you for responding.

I have another old laptop, Lenovo T61 + nVidia,
 openSuSE-13.2 + kde4 which successfully suspends to ram,
 but has never been able to suspend to disk (never fully
 investigated).
The working laptop uses /usr/sbin/s2ram from package 'suspend'.
I am attempting to log its suspend-resume operations and compare,
so far without recognizing any matches.

initcall_debug is reporting 500 events,
 of which all but 18 ' returned 0 '.

Do any of the above errors suggest anything to you?




I tried using pm-suspend (thank you for the suggestion),
but the symptoms were unchanged.
I am not familiar with 'aliases' in connection with pm-utils.
How are aliases applied (what file(s) need to be edited)?
What do aliases do?
