But yeah, it's wrong in many ways. The "lens" will do local searches
on your machine to make the "product suggestions." That's all kinds
of wrong. And you might want to check out these bugs in how it works:

So not only is it opening up users to phishing attacks, but it's
giving some, er, inappropriate suggestions. Though I do like the
comment on reddit that "The penis enlargement pump is a default
suggestion to all Ubuntu users." :)

That Ubuntu would lower themselves to putting ads on users'
desktops must mean that Canonical is *really* desperate for cash.
There could be a mass exodus from Ubuntu over this, even if they
do clean it up. Bad move by Canonical. First Unity, now this.
