It may be easier�to write the general summary after completing other sections of the�job description.�REPORTING�RELATIONSHIPS:Provide lead project based support to Level 1 � Junior Network�Administrator. �DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB�FUNCTIONS:Identify the functions or tasks that employees in the job perform.�The essential functions should state the purpose of the work and the�results to be accomplished, rather than how the function is�performed. Of the tasks listed, what percentage of time is devoted�to each? The more time employees spend on a function, the more�likely it is that the function is essential. Included in this section should be a�general statement such as: �Perform other duties as assigned.� This�phrase allows the supervisor to assign sporadic or one-time tasks as�needed.�QUALIFICATIONS: � 5+ years Linux System administration and engineering�experience: �o DNS fundamentals�o BIND �o Network fundamentals, �� Diagnostics with Unix tools RedHat Linux ES 3, 4, and 5,�CentOS, �� Working knowledge of complex web hosting�configuration components, including firewalls, loadbalancers, web and database servers. �� Well versed in Apache web server, Tomcat, PHP,�MySQL, VMWare, NIS, NFS, BIND, Sendmail, SNMP,�TFTP, Iptables, Syslog, Snort, Splunk �� Proficiency with fiber channel switches and SANs. �� Ability to deploy, support and diagnose real issues for a�production environment. �� Excellent written and verbal communication skills� Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability� Time management and organizational skills� Ability and desire to learn new skills quicklyPREFERRED: � Familiarity with Microsoft Servers�� Familiarity with Juniper and Checkpoint firewalls� Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches.� Experience with JBoss a plus.�REQUIRED�LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:� 4 year degree in CIS or CE.� Industry certifications preferred but not required.�PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office environment in which work is primarily sedentary in nature,�no special demands are required.�
