No, it isn't legal to be running AVG Home Edition in a Corporate
Environment.

Would it help if you had information regarding other corporations that
effectively utilize Linux Servers in their day to day operations?

The network I run has been using Linux Servers for the past 7, almost 8,
years. From way back when the only way to configure Samba as a Domain
Controller (or anything) was to dig into the configuration file and manually
setup everything. These days, it's dead simple to setup Samba to act as a
Primary/Backup or even simply be joined as a server inside an existing
Windows Domain.

Our network isn't large, we have 15 users accessing network services at any
given time, using files as small as a 30kb all the way up to several hundred
megabytes all over the network from our Linux server running as a Windows
Primary Domain Controller using Samba.

In my opinion, if they aren't interested in reviewing the Open Source
alternatives, then they really have no interest in saving money. Again, in
my opinion, an organization that is truly interested in cutting costs will
investigate all options, leaving no stone unturned.
