[mdlug] Hi...I'm a new mdluger

Raymond,

Yes...I'd be happy to give a talk on it.

The GTK Analysis System (GAS) is what I think I'll call it.
GAS is like a very powerful graphing calculator.
This is typically CSV data like the rows and cols in an excel; spreadsheet.
I will interface is well with the Open-Office 'Calc' spreadsheet.
It can be used like a graphing calculator to display a function for mathematics.
Each key on the keyboard does something to the data like a calculator.
'I' integrate, 'D' derivative, 'F' filters 'M' models , etc. (100 things) to the current (in use) channel.
The Idea is to provide a Front-End to all the Open source math stuff I can find.

On the GTK GUI side I was also thinking of putting out a blank template application
that has all the active code stripped out of it, so people can use it for building other things.
It has simplified 2D and 3D graphics routines and easy to use interfaces
to text and mouse clicks and well as ability to save the screen to files like jpg and print.
I could (for example) be used for sound editing in this context, or many other things.
I like the idea of a layered architecture so this appears to me.
I'm thinking of using this myself to write a little application
to convert images of graphs back into data.
That would be a real useful tool on it's own,
and easy to develop from this template system.

See you on Saturday.

Bob

 Gib,
This possibility is certainly worth thinking about. However Bob did say
he had consulted a lawyer in the matter, so I would be inclined to defer
to his council in this matter.

Bob,
any chance you might like to give our group a little talk about your
project at one of our meetings? I think many of us would be interested,
though you might need to start at the very beginning, defining such
things as what this software does, and who would likely use it.
