Mike,
	I've had two Nokia N800 for about a year now and before that two N770.
I still have all of them, except for the one I gifted to a former step
son; and they all still work. As for hackable, take a look at
<http://maemo.org/>. This does way more than my old Palm ever could and
I get comments about the screen all the time, 640x480. Matter of fact
there is now a Garnet VM that runs on it and runs all the Palm stuff you
may want to!
