well, since this discussion is titled about Darwining, and your talking
about how useless an Art History class might be in the future, you really
should consider that *if* you ever got into a job using your IT programming
skills that worked with a software package, oh that say made a game... then
perhaps that art history class might come in more use than you think...

just a thought.  Do not discount general eduction, because let us face the
facts shall we, any monkey can code (for the most part), but not every
monkey can paint a picaso with his code.
