[mdlug] Going price for LCD TV set?

Does it have HDMI capability?
If so, as a Sony, it's likely got a decent quality HDMI processing unit.
If it's an El-Cheapo brand from a warehouse store, it might have a
sub-par or JUST barely adequate HDMI processor. Sure, it will work, most
of the time...
Then it might start missing some of those insanely stupid DRM
Handshakes that those assha.. er uh.. sorry, slipping into rant mode...
It might start hicupping on some of the DRM Handshakes that are
supposed to happen every few seconds between the TV and the HD device
you have feeding it. If that happens, you'll be looking at a wonderfully
blank screen, which certainly "helps" you as the consumer to have the
"rights" to watch the movie you purchased on your wholly unmodified
personal entertainment equipment...
