iTunes is the defacto leader in Podcast subscriptions.
however as this is a Linux list, :D, you can use Amarok, which I have used
and it is an ok solution. I have tried Juice on WinXP, which has som
serious issues.
There is also Democracy Player, which is for videos only, but is nice. That
one can be setup to delete unwatched shows after a period of time.
I am currently personally using Google Reader. Yes, it would be nice if the
files were automatically downloaded to my computer to listen to when I want
to, it is convenient to be able to listen at home or work to unlistened to
shows w/o having to worry about knowing if I listened to something already
or is it synced up with my portable mp3 player.
speaking of which, that is why iTunes is the best... it syncs up with the
iPod showing immediately if a show has already been listened to or not in
addition to uploading the latest downloaded podcasts. I used to use iTunes,
which I did like extensively. I do NOT have an iPod and had to manually
move mp3s to my device, which is the case in almost every other situation.
Syncing up files to the portable mp3 device is where the gold is at.
Not real sure about other stuff out there and it's success other than the
Zune in knocking the champ, iTunes, off it's pedestal.
