I forgot to mention that he is typing IP addresses into the browser
window (for popular sites like news.google.com etc.) to avoid any
possible DNS issues.

Also, since I do not have access to his home machine I cannot provide
the details. I was just curios how it is possible for him to access the
first page but not therafter.
