2026-06-12 Meeting

Our warmup conversation was about healthy diets, and in particular
the taste of low salt foods and salt substitutes.

We then jumped right into Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) and
how it can be installed after removing programs like AppArmor.
There is definitely a learning curve for SELinux, so be sure to read
a good tutorial prior to enabling it.

For a specific issue we followed the following procedure to
troubleshoot a specific problem.

  • Disable selinux using setenforce.
  • Run program that had issues.
  • Run ausearch and audit2why.
  • Create a new policy and apply it temporarily.
  • Enable selinux, then run program.
  • If program still has issues, repeat above steps.
  • If program runs well, apply policy/ies permanently.

The option of a physical meeting came up.  The idea would be
to find a good meeting location for perhaps the evenings on
the fourth Thursday of the month.  This would good for people
who can’t attend on second Saturdays and people who prefer
to meet in person.  Of course it would still be available on
jitsi.

A complete set of Netware disks and docs has been offered
to anyone interested in Netware.
