The Discussion:
Gib did well starting up the meeting until Carl joined in.
We spent a few minutes talking about heart health a new treatment for fibrillation.
Pat asked who all will be chomping at the bit to install the latest long term support version of Ubuntu. The general consensus seemed to be that we’ll wait for a while. For example, Carl has several servers that require stability, so he is planning to let others discover any new issues before making the leap.
And of course we diverged into scifi movies. Colossus, the Forbin Project was highly recommended as a classic movie from the 70’s.
Carl talked about re-installing Windows on a computer “protected” by bitlocker. Since no key recovery method works in this case, it will require booting from an iso image, going into rescue mode, running diskpart to “clean” the affected partitions, and doing a normal installation.
When asked what would be a good topic for the next meeting, Dennis suggested Linux. Great idea Dennis, keep ’em coming.
