The Discussion:
We talked about many things including:
- the latest Raspberry Pi
- the Tile locator
- the Mycroft Mark II
- privacy settings on smart tvs
- how to install Kodi on a Pi
- SEMCO and a Discord invite
We then jumped into the topic of AI tools, which Gib kicked off by showing Carl the right way to use upscayl. After a quick download, he processed a copy of the MDLUG logo from the website at its original resolution. This produced a better, sharper image, and he processed the new image again to get a big and better image. That’s when we recalled how we needed an image like this for making t-shirts. Richard the Tech Man suggested that we also include QR codes for out website and Discord channel. Carl agreed to investigate this further, including Gib’s suggested vendor, printify.
Carl showed a short video created from text on ahiluoai. When first submitted the site reported it had a long queue and the wait time was about 800 minutes. Fortunately it only took about 3 hours, just in time for the meeting. Also Carl showed some sample videos created at huggingface spaces. There are hundreds of apps that can provide amazing special effects. This is one site worth browsing and tinkering with!
We also looked at klingai and videoexpress which can create custom videos from a text description and an optional image. Take a look at the websites to see amazing sample videos.
Since we were having so much fun and ran out of time, we decided to continue this topic next time!
