Joe Miller (KJ8O) is a licensed amateur radio operator who demonstrated digital radio modes useful to connect computer to computer over distances (multi-mile) well beyond normal wifi. He explained how to get started, where to get software for unlicensed operation, and how to get local help from the American Radio Relay League to earn a radio operator license.
