[mdlug] Install question

Hello I hope this isn't too stupid of a question. I have this HP Compaq pro
6300 micro Tower. I thought I could just burn an Ubuntu image boot from the
CD DVD player and run an install on it but it doesn't even want to see it
sees the DVD drive it doesn't I don't know if my image is any good I don't
know what could have gone wrong with it it went fine there's something on
the DVD I'm wondering now about a network boot or a boot off of a USB data
stick. The information that I can find about this particular hardware they
indicate that it should work with Linux I'm just wondering if anybody has
any ideas thanks.
