Traceroute probably won’t give you too much useful info, since google’s data enters are all over and you’re most likely getting the actual video content from many different sites other than “www.youtube.com”.

I’d look into what browser you’re using, whether you have Adblock (which Google likes to penalize), check whether you have appropriate codecs.
