So would something like a Matrox be helpful?

I am using the Triplehead2go Digital in my makeshift home office. fwiw the latest version of Ubuntu sees the three monitors as one large one, not so good but manageable for me, sounds like what you want. Not sure if it will support adaptive sync. I did find out that; with my setup at least; the Matrox cannot tell how many monitors are connected. The triplehead acts like there are three displays connected, even if there are not. I found that out when I moved a window to far when I only had two displays.
