My cousin lives nearby, and the family has always taken care of her. She has some cognitive impairments, but is able to live mostly independently. I, naturally, am her tech support resource.

Since getting Wifi in her apartment building, as you might imagine, her Windows laptop has gotten hit with malware. Popups and redirects and all that fun stuff. I cleaned it up once (she and my wife are the only people I'll do Windows support for), but last week it happened again. This weekend, she took me up on my offer to replace Windows 7 with Linux. I put on Xubuntu 15.04. All the hardware worked immediately, of course. I added a selection of games, and even a couple Windows games via WINE (like Peggle). I gave it back to her on Sunday.

Yesterday, she called me and thanked me profusely. She says it's easier and faster than Windows. Me, I'm just glad I won't have to tangle with malicious crap next time I'm over.
