I am hoping in time that maybe the price will come down. Either that or maybe they make their version made their spin of the OS and applications contained within available.

Very interesting stuff for a school or club but $300 is way too steep for 
me for what it does. I like the idea that the Pi can do full monitor 
display but in practice I use mine as servers and connect over the network 
for administrative tasks. 

When the Pi was launched the idea was bring your own hardware since most 
people already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse. With a $300 solution 
like they are overshooting the cost of off the shelf hardware like the HP 
Stream or most Chromebooks and putting themselves in novelty territory.
