If you want to be exact about it, the reason why MacOSX is UNIX is
because Apple has obtained UNIX 03 certification for the latest
releases of the OS from the Austin Group, who maintain the Single UNIX
Specification (the collection of all the ISO, IEEE POSIX and Open
Group specifications).
