Nah. SSD is *awesome* exactly for /tmp, /var/log, /var/spool, your
database journal, etc.... Why pay for performance and then not use it.
Or swap on SSD.
The old you-will-burn-it-out things is false for almost all cases, your
laptop will likely die first.
