[mdlug] Mythbuntu CD would not boot on a X64 system

Grub 2 does require some space of its own. Use a partitioner on a
stand-alone boot CD to create your partitions, including a one
cylinder partition to be dedicated to grub. Put an ext3 filesystem on
it and tune2fs it to turn off mandatory fscking. Put your grub2 files
there.

Myself, I use this partition for both grub 1 and 2, with grub 1 being
the normal boot loader and grub 2 --forced into the partition's boot
sector. This lets me run the software on the Super Grub 2 CD, which
includes the loop image booting code, off the hard drive.

I do have to use an Ubuntu with the ecact same version of grub 2 as
SG2, however (1.98); and so far I have to set up each main hard drive
manually. That is, I've not found any way to automate or package a
set-up to have it work on all hard drives.
