[mdlug] KMix Tray Icon

I have used the KMix tray icon for a over a year to adjust and mute the volume 
on my KDE based Debin 5.x system. Recently, the icon stopped changing anything. 
It looks like it is working, but it does not change the volume or mute it. If I 
open KMix, then I can change the volume and mute it. This all is not a big 
deal, it just a little annoying. I cannot find any case on the internet of this 
happening. Does anyone know how the tray icon and KMix are connected and how 
the connection could have stopped working?
