No.

The only significant bugs i'm aware of with rsync have to do with
resource forks on macs.  standard rsync didn't support them (may or may
not support them now) and apparently apple's patches were flakey.
I do not remember the details.


Sorry you've lost so much data.  This is a fine time for the rest
of us to meditate on the value of testing our backups.
