I finally got to the bottom of what was happening with my
Linksys card.  I had been compiling the driver and it worked
perfectly.  To make life easier, I set up a script to recognize
when a new kernel was installed and the driver was built auto-
matically.

At some point the madwifi driver package was installed by yum
from the rpmforge repo.  That version of the driver wasn't as
good.  After uninstalling the madwifi rpm, deleting some files,
and rebuilding from scratch, all is well.

Ray, the version I am using is madwifi-0.9.4  Give that a try
if you haven't got your Linksys card working.
