[mdlug] Suggestions for games for an elderly parent?

I tend to be a big fan of Sid Meier myself and many of his games have
linux based versions. A few have even been resurrected as freeware
(civilization, colonization) as public domain supported revamps. Most
are also good learning tools as they contain or relate to historical
content. Check out the various Civilization and Colonization versions,
Gettysburg and Antietam and even Alpha Centauri.
His games tend to be more strategy, country/faction building intensive
and turn based so they don't require fast reflexes and can be saved and
resumed later.
