 Andrew Raupp, the Chief Administrative Officer of Initiative Science
<http://www.initiativescience.org/>will be giving a 15 minute presentation
tomorrow at 6:30PM, prior to Jude's JPA talk.

Initiative Science's mission is to "initiate Scientific, Mathematical,
Technological and Environmental inquiry via innovation, for the purpose of
engaging the young minds of Metropolitan Detroit."

Initiative Science is looking to build a mobile application "to improve
scientific literacy and student learning".    They have asked the Detroit
Java User Group to help them out.

I've spoken to a few members who are interested in working on a project
together.  This would be an open source project and will target the Android
platform.  We will do this free of charge.  We view it as a chance to learn
a new technology together and to gain experience organizing and working on
an Open Source project.

I've asked Andrew to visit us and give us an idea of what they are all about
and what they are looking for.   I hope this will peak the curiosity of all
the members and I hope we will get several volunteers.
