No, being on a mailing list is far too passive to be "social networking."
I think only people who feel some guilt over wasting their time on
Facebook would try to rationalize it in such a way. ;)

Facebook is just the new GeoCities, with a blue theme. It's a good way to
see what someone (and their friends) looks like, but that's about it.
