There was a d-link divice that makes you usb printer a network printer. The one I have works great. We print from Windows and Linux.

Subject: [mdlug] windows linux network and printer
OK,
So I only actually like working with one of the above nouns, however to
avoid constanting nagging from my favorite wife, I need to get the printer
that's plugged inot my LinuxBox shared over our network so she can print
from Vista.
I've installed Samba and SWAT, within printer-config-local host, I have my
printer set as SHARED, we can "see" the CUPS printer from the windows
machine, but when we try to connect/print we get "Access denied, unable to
connect"
I'm obviosuly missing something here, I'm guessing on my end, but I always
struggle with network permissions. When I try to read the Ubuntu forums I
never have half the options they talk about, I guess one of the prices I pay
for running a lighter desktop (XFCE)
anybody got some ideas, or at least point me in the right direction.
Jim
