That's weird. What version of firmware is your PS3 at? Mine's at the
latest, 2.42. Files I've created with that script have played on my
PS3 just fine. I've read that earlier versions of the firmware could be
quite picky about media - like requiring the video resolution to be an
exact multiple of 8, and other such restrictions.
Also, since both the original and the converted files are AVI, and
the original plays video but not audio, then the first command I
suggested *should* have worked. (It just copies the video without
change, and turns the audio into mp3 instead of A52.)
