the government...so that if authorities want to, they can disrupt
the operation of all consumer goods within an area of interest.
For example, in breaking up a riot, if the devices *MUST* accept
RF interference, then it's very easy to prevent them from being
used as a means of coordination among the "ring-leaders".
This means that if you want to have a well-run riot, you need
to invest in more expensive equipment. :-)
