[mdlug] Email configuration problem

Do they host their own internal Email server or do they access one outside
of their building via an outside webhost?
We utilize AT&T Business DSL, we host our own internal email server with all
incoming/outgoing email on our own equipment. The business service includes
5 outside IP Addresses that are on permanent lease to our account.
The solution to the problem you describe depends upon how they send/receive
email.
If it is an inhouse email server, I would take a look at their router,
assuming that their inhouse email server worked fine with their previous
ISP.
If it is an outside server, then they are probably being blocked somewhere
in AT&T's network, probably as a measure to combat spam, if they are setup
with a dynamic "residential" class DSL. Which means a lengthy telephone
conversation with AT&T's Level 1 support people, before being pushed to
Level 2 for another lengthy conversation before possibly being given a
number to their network routing team for another lengthy conversation that
should provide some resolution.
