Hi Jim,
If you want to know what the battery is capable of, then look at the
Amp-Hour (Ah) rating of the battery, then hook up a rig (seperate from the
laptop), use the appropriate charging and discharging strategy for you
battery type, charge it to 100% State of Charge (SOC), then dischage to to
0% SOC to get the present Ah rating of your battery. NOTE: Monitor
everything very closely. Perhaps even doing it in a detached garage,
perhaps even done outside. Monitor the voltages and temperatures. Then
after all that, look up the cost of a replacement battery and realize how
much time you just wasted and then buy a new one anyways. :)
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for anything you do based upon the
suggestions above, your actions are your own and therefore up for a
nominations to the Darwin Awards should something untoward happen.
