Unfortunately, no. Unlike the older nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries,
nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries do NOT
exhibit memory effects -- dead is nearly always dead. Except in
EXTREMELY rare instances, one a newer battery goes toes-up, there's
nothing that can restore it. You may even find (especially with Li
batteries) that the battery itself has changed shape -- defective
cells often swell and cause noticeable bulging.
