Well, ECS's warranty dept is slow to respond, but we'll see. In the
meantime, I hooked up my DVD-RW drive via my IDE-to-USB adapter, but
it's surprisingly slow. I've got it connected via USB 2.0, and I've
definitely gotten USB 2.0 speeds with hard drives before, but backing up
a DVD last night took about two hours instead of ~20 minutes. It could
also play a movie fine from the start, but slowed down to less than
realtime in a few minutes.

Running a script to convert the movie to DIVX for my Treo, it started
out at 87fps, but quickly dropped to ~23fps. Has anyone else seen such
behavior?

Sincerely,

 Ray Ingles (313) 227-2317
