[mdlug] im, kopete, and the elusive line break

At work I'm using kopete for yahoo IM.

Is there a way to insert line breaks?

I've tried \C-return which breaks lines in the sending edit box
(of both kopete and pidgeon).

However the recipient sees "<BR />" when sent from kopete,
and words runtogether when sent from pidgeon.


The purpose of the line breaks is to divide responses into
paragraphs, align lists and outlines, ascii diagrams, ...
for easier reading.
