I definitely saw that recently at work!  We were looking 
at 2 different frameworks for business reporting, and 
both used IE with active-X excel charting components.  

Happily, this was unacceptable, as our entire mgmt team 
uses Firefox and Safari, as do perhaps 10-15% of our 
customer base.  So we switched for Flash for reports.  
Much nicer, *and* cross-platform.
