That is an extremist statement itself.

Before the U.S. Civil War, people who were opposed to slavery in the
South were denounced as "extremists".

An extremist is someone whose beliefs are diametrically opposed to
your own. To Osama, *you* would be an extremist. Instead of trying
to put an "extremist" label on someone, try debating the *ideas*
behind what they're saying instead.
