[mdlug] Naked/"dry loop" DSL and Linux-friendly ISPs

I use WOW! for phone and internet.  I have been very happy with the service.
We get unlimited long distance, caller ID  and a lot of other nonsense +
cable for what I consider a reasonable price, and I am what you would call
tight^?^?^?^?^?frugal.  My cable service hasn't had any problems except when
power has gone out.  The phone uses the cable modem, which has a battery in
it so that the phone will still work while the power is out (for a limited
time only).
