[mdlug] An Idea inspired by....

I used to use taxact on a windows 98 machine I kept unplugged in the closet.
$20/yr for taxact was way better than the $45 I spent one year on turbotax online.
but I decided a while ago to start doing all of my taxes by hand so I know that I am in fact
getting the most money back for what I am paying in.

Also I plan on doing all of the taxes for the business I am going to start by hand.

I stopped trusting tax software after I found filing errors in every version of software I ever used.
I stopped using TurboTax mainly because I double checked my tax return by hand and came out getting more back by hand.
I then tried TaxAct and double checked my taxes by hand and found that once again the software was shorting me.
So I have been doing my taxes by hand ever since.

It usually takes me just as long to do my taxes by hand as it did to do them with software anyway, I used to have a lot of
write offs and for a few years I was able to itemize my deductions.

I can't guarantee anything for this year, but the online version of
TurboTax worked fine in Linux + FireFox for me either last year or the
year before.
