[mdlug] Remotely Use Linux

You can get an installer/uninstaller from here:

<http://www.kood.org/terminal-server-patch/>

One thing to keep in mind... I am told that the XP license only allows a
single user (haven't read it :), therefore using any of the termserver
patches to allow concurrent logins would (theoretically) violate the
EULA. I've been told this, I have not looked into it at all, since I
don't use the patch.

Subject: Re: [mdlug] Remotely Use Linux

I discovered a trick for Windows XP. Normally, it does not allow anyone
to be logged
onto the desktop if someone is using the Remote Desktop feature; indeed,
it will kick
off anyone using the desktop if a remote connection is set up.

However... beta versions of XP SP2 did not impose such a limit.
Googling for "Remote
Desktop XP Concurrent Sessions" will turn up copies of the beta
termsrv.dll and how
to apply it.

Now the kids can be playing web games or whatever on the machine while
my wife does
work for her bakery on the laptop. Linux has a nice RDP client... :->

 Sincerely,
