[mdlug] OT: KMid and Rosegarden not finding MIDI sequencer.

I finally got a MIDI urge this week.
I downloaded 16+ MIDI files.
So far, I have only gotten TiMidity++ to play MIDI files (aka, *.mid).
When I try to load/run MIDI files in KMid/Rosegarden I get messages to 
the effect that the MIDI sequencer can not be found/started.
Why can TiMidity++ play MIDI files, but KMid/Rosegarden can not?
Seeking help, Rick   :-(
P.S.
When I had an Atari ST, MIDI was fun and easy.
