As soon as I hit send I saw in the release notes 2.0 was released on the 
19th. go figure, eh.

to install it I downloaded the tgz file untared if and moved the 
resulting firefox directory to /opt (I previously moved my existing 
firefox to firefox_1.5.0.9 so I could go back, if necessary).
