FWIW: I'm typing this response on my phone, a Sanyo Innuendo SCP-6780
on Boost Mobile pay-as-you-go service with data add-on. The phone had
dropped in price to $59 at Walmart, and I was able to switch my
current service to it on which I'm grandfathered in at 10 cents a
minute, 10 cents a Text, and 35 cents a day for as much data as I care
to stuff through a connection roughly equivalent to a dial-up modem.
The same options for a new customer would cost 20 cents a minute and
50 cents a day for data, still unlimited, and still the cheapest I can
find if you only care about the data.
My phone has a qwerty keyboard, though only the alpha keys are in the
right place along with numerics accessed with Fn + the top alpha row,
and some characters I frequently use (including square brackets and
semicolon) need to be entered via special menu selection.
There is also a micro-SD card slot inside the battery compartment
which uses a normal filesystem; mine has an 8 gig card in it. I can
plug the phone into a USB cable and move files back and forth to the
card (but not the phone's internal memory) or can use Bluetooth to
move files into and out of both the card and the phone's memory.
There are also an mp3 player, still and video capability, and ringtone
useability, most of which along with file transfer was missing on my
other phone. And in spite of the slow nature of the connection I can
watch youtube videos on the phone. And there are a wide variety of
Apps available both free and with cost. The only thing I haven't been
able to get this phone to do that I'd really like is view PDF files.
