Programmers,

My employer in Columbia, SC,
is seeking to hire about a dozen "super" developers
in the near future (1-3 months?).

They are actively seeking resumes now.

I'll gladly answer questions I can about the company off list,
(resume and code samples not required to get company details).

In general, the skills sought include
  o object-oriented programming in C
(likely to become C++ in foreseeable future)
o ability to decipher undocumented legacy spaghetti code
and replace it with code to match defined APIs
o experience with standards including ANSI C89, ANSI C99
    and ability to determine (non)compliance
o experience with bugzilla or other bug-tracking system
o experience with cvs or other code version system

A sample of code will be required with the resume.
I suggest a Hello, World! program that displays
what you consider the important aspects of C coding.
I also suggest a full package (e.g. .deb, .rpm, .tar.gz)
ready for installation that demonstrates how you tackle
a 1K-100K lines team (or solo) project. The project
should include compiled code (e.g. C, C++) and script
(e.g. bash, perl), as well as whatever else you think
should be delivered. (If you haven't got such a project,
consider writing an air traffic control simulator with inputs and
outputs in braille, or something equally silly, that demonstrates
how you attack compliance and interaction.)

Though not required, I suggest you include with the resume
a requested salary that reflects what you think your
skills are worth. They are seeking to maximize skills per individual
(i.e. benefits paid) rather than hiring more people with less skill,
so underestimating your value will reduce your chances.

Seeking skilled coworkers,
