Rob,
	Thanks, I have been scouting the log files. I do not have a dual core
processor and I do not have Samba installed. There are some log entries
I don't know what they mean so I'll look more into that. It seems the
Ubuntu has issues with the Thinkpad's video. Good luck with your
compile.
