[mdlug] Location of xorg.conf in Ubuntu 18.04

Sorry about that.  I wasn't ignoring you, I just didn't
have anything to offer, and I was hoping someone
else would pick up the thread.

This is the first time in a long time since someone
in the group would reply with at least a clue.

And now that I think about it, have you checked
the log?  Maybe that will provide a hint about why
the files are being overwritten.
