[mdlug] Saving NVIDIA settings - Ubuntu 18.04

Hello All,

I have to reset nVidia settings to my liking every time I start the 
display. There is a button to save to X configuration file but the 
problem I do not know where to save it to so that it sticks.

The default path seems to be /etc/X11/xorg.conf but that does not seem 
to be working. I get a message in the 'NVIDIA X Server Settings' tool 
saying 'Unable to open X config file <PATH> for writing'. It does not 
seem to be a permission issue. I have tried different paths even 
under/tmp & $HOME.
