This is a great authoring PC if you equip it with a reasonably
lightweight distro (not Ubuntu, for instance), Openbox + dmenu, LyX,
Bluefish, Inkscape and a lightweight javascript equipped standards
compliant browser such as vimb. As mentioned by others, a large
capacity USB flash drive can be bought relatively cheaply, especially
if it's USB 2.0, which is probably good enough for this usage.
